This painting turned out to be a gem!  Using tracing paper you to can obtain the detail in this city scape.  With a variety of subjects in the photo, your eye wanders the canvas to capture subtle details. 

Drawn originally from a magazine the original photo measured only 11" x 8".  The painting Jan made was then redrawn on a larger canvas and now measures 12" x 18" using a graph method. The image was then redrawn to include all small details she captured originally.

Creating a graph over top of the painting or picture is easy.  Draw 5 vertical lines from top to bottom.  Then draw 4 lines horizontally across to create a grid. 

Now draw the same grid on the lager piece of paper.  5 lines up and down then 4 lines across.  See the relation?  Now transpose each grid with a pencil to achieve a proper resize of your original painting,
