White House

A card sent to Janice from the White House became the subject of this tutorial.  Another perspective painting shows off a hazy atmosphere from the balcony of the Presidents private quarters.  In the background, the details are diminished to enhance the railing and column.

The sky is a blaze of color light with reds, yellows, blues, and plain white clouds.  Clouds are easy, just don't put any watercolor paint in that section to achieve simple clouds.  Although you can't see the sun it is easy to tell it is sunset.

Dept is easy to achieve here.  Make the details in the foreground crisp and clear.  The farther back things become the less detail you put into them.  This creates the illusion of depth.
