Changing the time of day
Sunsets are beautiful and make wonderful beach scene. It leaves and impression on you and makes most of us feel warm and fuzzy.  Adding sky elements and water reflections will enhance your painting.

Stormy Weather
A day at the same beach might turn dark when storms move into the area.  The tones become darker and the sea scape depicts wind and rough seas.  The sky is washed with a sponge and white caps can be achieved by leaving the paper white in that area.
