            Getting Started - Painting

We will guide you through the concepts needed to produce different effects in your watercolor paintings.  Visit our forum to get a list of materials you will need.  Then read some of the blog posts and pick your first subject.  I recommend a landscape painting and just a few limited colors to work from.  Don't be affraid to experiment.  Start with sketching your painting out first then choose your colors.

Weekly Watercolor Art Tip #15

This painting turned out to be a gem!  Using tracing paper you to can obtain the detail in this city scape.  With a variety of subjects in the photo, your eye wanders the canvas to capture subtile details.

Drawn originally from a magazine the orignial photo measured only 11" x 8".  The painting Jan made was then redrawn on a larger canvas and now measures 12" x 18" using a graph method. The image was then redrawn to include all small details she captured originally.

Find out how it was done, read on....
